† Chit Chat † Personalised Phone Cases! (DISCOUNT CODE)

This is very exciting. I have, for you, dear reader, not only an exciting website and gift ideas, but ALSO a promo code especially for you! Stay tuned.

Wrappz is the exciting website. They make personalised everything. This kind of website is ideal if you've got someone's birthday coming up, but you're sort of uninspired, or you just aren't sure what they'd like best. A non-exhaustive list of the kind of things that Wrappz personalise:

  • Cases (Phone, Kindle, iPad, iPod...)
  • Wall Art
  • Mugs
  • Jewelry Boxes
  • Cushions
  • Skins (for laptops, phones, iPods...)
The most exciting one for me personally is the phone case section. I got an iPhone a few months ago (my first smartphone ever) and I can't get enough edgy cases (check out my instagram for some examples). Now, I'm selfish, I'll be making personalised phone cases for myself, thank you very much, but I'm sure most of you out there could really make someone's day with a personalised phone case (or make yourself one, I'm not judging ;) )

Click here to check out their options for personalised phone cases. You'll see that they have a huge amount of phone options (not just iPhone).

SOOO here's the exciting bit I'm sure you came here for:
Here's the code to get 20% off your own personalised phone case:
ALSO! That promo code is valid across the whole website, not just for phone cases :)

And hey, in case you wanted more, here's a code to get a free skin for your favourite electronics (you only pay postage):
Find the options for that one if you click here.

Peace out xxxx

†Fashion† Notting Hill Carnival fashion event

I was lucky enough to to be invited to attend M2K (Masquerade 2000)'s exclusive fashion event showcasing the carnival outfits which would be the centerpiece of the Notting Hill Carnival 2015.

  • Who are M2K?
Glad you asked! M2K are an association, founded in 1992, who are at the heart of the theme, organisation and ultimate success  of the Notting Hill Carnival (NHC) in London. They're by no means uniquely affiliated to the London one, they attend and are involved in loads of carnivals across Britain. I can't really hope to express all I want to say about them in a short intro, so check them out on their website!

  • What was the event for?
The event I attended was showcasing the theme of the NHC, but even more excitingly, was allowing us to see, before anyone else, the outfits that they would be displaying at the NHC.

  • What was the theme?
The theme is "Revolve 3015". One thousand years from now, dissent and chaos will reign supreme over planet earth. With a harrowing present and an uncertain future, humans are not hopeful. A group of highly developed humans banished from earth, having spent time developing highly advanced technology such as time travel, return to 2015 to try and stop what created the Armageddon. (See full story here).

The costumes are those of the people who come back to 2015 from the future. The mixture of sci-fi and carnival is truly a beautiful thing to behold:

I can't remember the actual titles for all of the costumes, but those I remember I shall add!

This is the Warrior Woman. Below is her male counterpart. My favorite bit about this outfit was the leg-lace!

No one complained when he showed up...

† Fashion † My Go-To Shoes

Punk and grunge fashion can sometimes be difficult to emulate without spending tons of money on good, unusual shoes. This is my list of the shoes I own which help me to express my inner rock-star (lol).

Doc Martens are "bae", to quote Vine. Yes, they're expensive. But you know what, your first pair will probably outlive you. They also just so happen to go with almost anything, and come in a huge range of colour, cut, design... I am absolutely in love with mine, I cherish them above any other pair of shoes I own (and most people I know...)

The Tartan shoelaces are also from Doc Martens' own brand, but when I bought these, they came with plain black and also electric yellow shoelaces.

You can do almost anything with an outfit that includes Docs. My personal favourite is a nice feminine skirt or dress, with fishnets/ripped tights and Docs. The contrast created is awesome.

† Beauty † Grunge Smokey Eye Tutorial

So I'm one of those people who will go for a smokey eye if I wear makeup. I have a long history of worrying about how small my eyes are, so I tend to overcompensate. That said, smokey eyes are the BEST. This tutorial is one of my favourite casual grunge looks.

This look is specifically showcasing the L'Oréal Super Liner Smokissime (not sponsored, btw). If I'm correct, it's a relatively new release (think end of January), and I am LOVING IT. For those wondering:

This is it in all its glory. The greatest thing is that it's actually powder, which makes it long lasting but also easy to correct if you mess up.

† Health † Matcha Tropical Drink recipe

Teapigs' Matcha powder is a titan amongst teas. It really revolutionized how much health benefits I was getting from my tea consumption. My only problem with it? The taste. I don't think anyone would disagree with me that Matcha tea is very bitter and unpleasant tasting. That said, I've remained determined to get the most out of this super-tea, no matter the flavour. I've done the whole shot-it-down with Matcha and warm water in a shotglass, and the whole dilute-it-in-water until you can hardly taste it... But neither of those are terribly appealing. I've been experimenting with different combinations, and I've finally come up with one I like! I thought I'd share it with you all, so that you can enjoy Matcha more :)

† Beauty † Mini Cosmetics Haul (and first impressions)

I tend to do this thing where I wait until I need to buy several things from Boots or Superdrug (or other) because then I can do a whole shopping trip and it feels more exciting (life? what's a life?)

Anyhow, that's what I did the other day. I bought many new products that I hadn't tried yet, so I figure this can be a sort of 2-in-1 Haul and First impressions.

Firstly, I got several moisturizers because my amazing Soap and Glory Righteous Butter tub ran out... (My heart broke a little)

I got the Dove Winter Care tub, and
this ADORABLE mini-Nivea pot

† Chit Chat † Get more traffic to your blog

Disclaimer: No spoilers (probably). Non exhaustive list

As a beginner myself, when Im looking up ways in which to help promote my blog, I'm often flooded with suggestions that don't actually help me that much, or are in fact plain old untrue. I thought I'd put together a little list of techniques and websites that have helped me; this is from one beginner blogger to another, I won't try and sell you anything :)

This website is UK based, but it's by no means the only one of its kind. You can sign up as a blogger, a brand or a publisher. Essentially, it allows bloggers of all levels of experience (within the lifestyle/beauty/fashion scope) to come into contact with brands and magazines who are looking for bloggers. The layout is a little confusing at first, but you'll soon get how to operate it just fine! I enjoy this website mainly to explore what brands are looking for, but also to see what new bloggers are popping up on the scene.

Here are some examples of the kind of thing you can explore on TBP

As you might see on the right of my blog, they offer some cool badges you can add to your blog (which I'd like to think add a touch of legitimacy, I'm such a sucker for that kind of thing...)
